Why you'd want to live in Marietta
WELCOME TO MARIETTA! City of Marietta was incorporated in 1834 and is currently the fourth largest of the principal cities of the Atlanta metro area. Marietta is located in central Cobb County and is a home to approximately 60,000 people. All of the public schools in Marietta proper are operated by the Marietta City Schools (MCS). MCS became only the second International Baccalaureate World School in the state of Georgia in 2008 and is only of few school systems nationwide to provide full IB continuum from Kindergarten to 12th grade. The Walker School, a private K-12 institution and the Marietta Campus of Kennesaw State University as well as Life University are located within the Marietta City limits. Marietta is known for its diverse, thriving community, weekly farmer's markets on the Marietta Square, concerts, festivals and events throughout the year and close proximity to city of Atlanta while maintaining a small-town atmosphere.
